These terms apply to Cogniva, operated by Opal Labs Oy, registered at Kiveliöntie 10, 02330 Espoo, Finland under business ID 3559097-9 (VAT FI35590979). By using Cogniva or buying a report, you agree to them.
Cogniva is an entertainment product. It gives you an estimated score, a percentile comparison and a breakdown across six reasoning categories, based on how you answered 33 questions.
It is nota clinical, diagnostic, psychometric or professionally supervised assessment. It is not administered by a psychologist, it is not standardised or normed against a validated population sample, and it must not be used for any decision about employment, education, medical care, or a person’s capability. Do not treat your score as a measure of your worth or intelligence in any formal sense.
Your report costs €2.99 as a single payment, including any VAT we are required to charge. There is no subscription, no recurring charge, and no payment method stored for future use.
The payment gives you access to your report for that assessment. You can return to it using the private link we email you, and we will keep it available for as long as we operate the service. If we ever have to shut Cogniva down, we will give you reasonable notice so you can save a copy.
Each purchase covers the one assessment you have completed. Taking the assessment again produces a new report and requires a new payment.
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance purchase and get a refund.
Because your report is digital content delivered immediately, you are asked at checkout to agree that we begin supplying it straight away, and you acknowledge that you therefore lose the 14-day right of withdrawal once delivery has begun. If you did not give that agreement, the 14-day right still applies.
This does not affect your statutory rights if the service is faulty or not as described.
If something goes wrong — you were charged twice, the report never generated, or the service did not work — email support@cogniva-iq.com and we will refund you.
We do not generally refund because you disagree with your score, since the report is the product you paid for and it was delivered.
Your report is reachable through a private link containing a unique access key. Anyone holding that link can view your report, so treat it like a password and do not share it. You are responsible for keeping it private.
Do not attempt to bypass payment, script or automate attempts, scrape the question bank, resell access, or interfere with the service. We may suspend access, without refund, where we reasonably believe you have done any of these.
We provide Cogniva “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any decision you make on the basis of your results, for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss beyond the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited — including your statutory rights as a consumer.
These terms are governed by the law of Finland. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
If we cannot resolve a complaint between us, consumers can refer the matter to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariitalautakunta), after first contacting the Consumer Advisory Service. Consumers elsewhere in the EU can reach the same route through their national European Consumer Centre.
